About Us

Who We Are
Sustainable Natural Foods was born in the heart of southeastern Oregon’s breathtaking cattle country. This pristine landscape provides the ideal environment for raising beef products the way nature intended—free, natural, and entirely free of antibiotics and hormones.
Our family-owned and operated 3,000-acre ranch is blessed with abundant pastures, clean water, and a commitment to excellence. Rooted in the traditions of the ranching lifestyle, we are dedicated to producing the highest quality beef while preserving the natural beauty and integrity of the land for future generations.
At Sustainable Natural Foods, stewardship and sustainability are at the core of everything we do. Our family, the Spitsbergens, strives to make a meaningful impact by combining our ranching heritage with a deep sense of social responsibility. Guided by our faith and our belief in serving others, we live by the principle, “live to give.”
As ministers of the gospel of Jesus Christ, we are passionate about using Sustainable Natural Foods as a platform to feed the hungry, share hope, and spread the good news. Every step we take is driven by our desire to bless others and create a legacy that uplifts communities both near and far.
Our Mission
At Sustainable Natural Foods, our commitment to stewardship extends to both the environment and the animals we raise. We recognize the harm caused by poor practices in farming, agriculture, and animal husbandry, and we are determined to be a force for positive change.
Our mission is to leave the land and resources we use in better condition than we found them, ensuring that our operations contribute to a healthier planet. By making thoughtful, long-term decisions, we aim to set a new standard for sustainable land management and environmental care, inspiring others to do the same.

Our Cattle
Central to our efforts are our Wagyu cattle, renowned for their exceptional meat quality and delightful temperament. Known outside Japan as Wagyu, this breed—whose name translates to “Japanese cow”—originated as draft animals selected for their physical endurance and marbled meat.
Their docile nature makes them a joy to work with, and their unique characteristics produce some of the finest beef in the world. By raising these remarkable animals with respect and care, we honor their heritage while upholding our dedication to sustainable and ethical practices.
Our Ranch in Hokkaido
Nestled in the northernmost island of Japan, our Hokkaido ranch is where our Wagyu heritage begins. The region's cold climate and pristine environment create ideal conditions for raising fullblood Wagyu cattle. With a deep respect for Japanese tradition, we maintain pure genetics and breeding practices passed down over generations.
This location serves as our foundation, preserving the integrity of the Wagyu bloodline and ensuring that every animal raised reflects the standards of excellence known throughout Japan.
